Roka Aldwych
We visited Roka on 7th April 2016.
Well what can we say about this restaurant, apart from the fact that we wont be going back ! The food is of a good standard, although the Black Cod was not up to standard. We have had their Black Cod in their Noho branch in Charlotte Street, and that was so much nicer for some reason.
But saying that, the fruit salad that we had for dessert, pictured right, was without doubt the best fruit salad we have ever had in our lives ! Kumquats, dragon fruit, star fruit, lychees, rambutans, sharon fruit, melon, berries, you name it, the list goes on...
But the main problem with the restaurant is the Noise. It was so loud that you couldn't even hear the person

sitting next to you, let alone a table of 8 people. The music in the bar area was turned up so loud and the acoustics were so poor, that it completely ruined our evening.
However one of our guests had been there on the weekend, at lunchtime, when the city workers weren't around. And he said that it was a very nice time to go.
Alternatively we would go to their Charlotte Street branch and eat al-fresco.
The special offer was a very good deal for £31 plus service charge, but we wouldn't want to pay full price.
(This restaurant was visited before we started the food blog so it is not an in depth review).
