The Restaurant Show at Olympia 2016
We visited The Restaurant Show at Olympia on the 5th October 2016. It is generally a show for trade customers but we did find a few interesting food exhibitors that were new to us.
The stand that really stood out the most for us, was the artisan pasta stand called La Tua Pasta Ltd. Their unique range of pasta is 'second to none'. Their range of Tortelloni filled with various delightful fillings from Cranberry & Goats Cheese, to Wild Boar, Walnut & Gorgonzola, Beetroot & Goats Cheese, Pecorino & Honey.
We tried their Tortelloni filled with Black truffle and Burrata, and it is a match made in heaven! It is clear that we are not the only people that loves this innovative new company, as they have won Great Taste producer 2016 for many of their pastas, and were also winners in the preceding years.
La Tua Pasta Ltd can be found at Borough Market Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm. The Crab and Marscapone is their best seller at Borough. They also are at the following places on Saturdays, Sloane Square's Duke of York, The Broadway in Hackney and in Barnes.
If anyone is interested they would like to do a Pasta Tasting, at 11am Monday through to Thursday, for a minimum of 10 people. Please contact me if you would be interest in coming, and I will organise this.
Their website is www.latuapasta.com and you can also order their home delivered pasta through Amazon. Tel: 020 8961 8024 Email: info@latuapasta.com
Other exhibitors that took our interest were Butter and Cheese suppliers Isigny Ste Mere, with their beautiful butter, Beurre D'Isigny. Anyone that knows us, knows that we are 'butter fiend' ! In fact so much so that we nearly named this website "Butter Wouldnt Melt.co.uk"!!
Flora Tea Company provides very decorative flower teas from China. These type of teas have been a tradition in China forever, but this is the first time that we have seen it in the UK. And are great for a dinner party.
Bridor De France provided very delicate and light French patisserie.
Theo Randall cooked up a storm in his cooking demonstration – A Taste of Parma with Theo Randall featuring Parmigiano Reggiano
